The Word for today is found in Matthew 10: 34-38

V34 Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. V35 For I have come to turn “a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, V36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household. V37 Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; 38 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Although Jesus Christ is called the “Prince of Peace”, and truth must always be proclaimed in love, there is a sense that his coming and the proclamation of the gospel will bring division, and this will come about intentionally.

Faith in Christ separates the believer from the sinner and the world. The proclamation of God’s Word and its truth will bring opposition, division and persecution.
A life lived according to Christ’s righteous standards will bring ridicule and scorn.

The defense of the New Testament Apostolic faith against heresy will bring division.

Chose this day who you will serve; as for me and my family we will serve the Lord.

Be a blessing, Pastor Louise
