The Word for today is found in 1 Corinthians 2: 10, 12-14

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the Words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

So often we try to understand God’s Word and his ways by our natural thinking, and it never makes sense to our natural thinking.

God is a spirit and when we relate to him or his Word it must be by the revelation of the indwelling Holy Spirit. God wants you to know his Word and have a deep understanding of it. That’s why he gave us the wonderful Holy Spirit to teach us all things.

The only thing that the unbeliever can wholly understand is the teaching on Christ’s salvation message.

Once they are born again, then the Holy Spirit will open up the New Testament teaching. The New Testament is for the believer so we can grow up in Christ and enter into all the wonderful promises he has provide for us on the cross.
