The Word for today is found in Matthew 5: 5-10

5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (KJV)

5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (NIV)

V5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Meek as I said yesterday in the Greek means to be teachable, so those who are teachable shall inherit the earth.
This verse is talking about prosperity that is for all believers. Paul said that Christ became poor, so you could be rich. Rich here does not just mean spiritual riches, but earthly riches as well.
Look at Deuteronomy 28 and it will tell you what is yours under the covenant given to Abraham. Jesus bore the curse of that covenant so you would not have to.

V6. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. This is speaking of those who cannot get enough of God and his Word.
Too many Christians are willing to settle for so little and do not desire to know more of the Word. I have taught in classes like that where people do not want to know more so they do not have to be challenged in their walk with the Lord.

V7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. This is talking about teaching others about God as God taught you.
We need to be patient and long-suffering with each other. Not everyone gets the revelation of the Word maybe a quick as you do or did. It took you time to get it right, and God did not berate you for how many times you missed it.

V8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
If you want to really know God then you need to stay up on 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
God is looking for those who seek him with a pure heart. Be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to show you where you have fallen short and ask for forgiveness. And, the sooner the better, or you will allow Satan to get a foothold in your life.

V9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God
. A peacemaker is one who witnesses for God.
Be bold with the word and sharing Christ. Do not draw back or the Lord will not be pleased with you. Realize that someone’s life could be in the balance if you are not willing to share Christ.

V10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. This is a verse on maturity.
If you are living a Christ-centered life and walking in the spirit then you will find times of persecution. You are persecuted for the Word’s sake. So as you grow and mature in the Word you can be sure that Satan will attack you. He does not care about you but about the Word that is in you. That is a real threat to his works of darkness.

Stand fast and God will take you through to the other side victorious.

Be bless in Christ, Pastor Louise
