The Word for today is found in Mark 11:25-26
25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”(NKJV)
My friend and co-worker in the jail ministry taught on forgiveness in our Monday night class. She did a really fine joy, and reinforced the Word in my life also.
I had just come out of a difficult situation where forgiveness was necessary in my life. It is a hot button issue for most of the inmates as it is for all of us at one time or another.
n the passage above from Mark, Jesus makes it very clear that forgiveness is not an option if we want to have our prayers answered. I really believe that often the reason so many people do not get their prayers answered is because they are in unforgiveness toward someone.
Jesus never said this life of faith was going to be a bed of roses. It takes discipline. You must be obedient and really put your flesh under the Word of God.
We can not allow our feelings to rule us; we need to control our feelings by the renewing of our minds to the Word of God. It is your choice. God will not do it for you, but he has given you all you need to accomplish it.
Start today and make sure you are not in unforgiveness. If you are, then deal with it today and start anew with God. You will begin to see God do some wonderful things in your life that he has wanted to do.
